Following are some frequently asked questions about the museum.
Please refer to them.

ABOUT THE TOUR

Is it okay for me to tour the museum on my own? I do not require a tour guide.

From July 2022, the museum will open on the first Saturday of every month and individuals can tour the museum on their own on Saturday open days. Individuals who wish to do so must make a booking at the Saturday Open Day Bookings page of the Mazda Museum website.
Details will be announced on the Mazda Museum website.

Is it possible for me to leave before the tour finishes?

A Mazda Museum shuttle bus that operates on the premises takes visitors to and from the museum.
For security reasons, we ask visitors not to leave while the tour is in progress.

Please tell me what time the tour begins.

What is the admission fee?

Visiting the museum is free of charge.

Do you provide guided tours in English?

We do not provide guided tours in English at present.

What are some of the features of Mazda Museum?

The museum consists of 10 exhibit themes which are arranged in sequence from Zone 1 to Zone 10.
Visitors can learn about Mazda’s history from its founding to the present as well as Mazda’s aspirations for the next 100 years.
In addition to seeing models and engines of Mazda cars on display, visitors can watch cars being assembled before their very eyes, so we hope everyone who comes to visit will be able to feel firsthand what we mean by Mazda’s “monotsukuri spirit.”

Is parking available?

Visitors arriving by public transportation: There is a parking lot in front of the Mazda head office building.
                  We do not take reservations for a parking space.
                  Please park in an empty space. 
                  *Do not park in spaces that have a pylon.
Visitors arriving by chartered bus: Please use the Mazda East Main Gate Entrance and park in the tour bus parking area in front of the entrance to the Mazda Museum.

Are there age restrictions on tours?

We welcome visitors from the age of zero, so please feel free to make bookings for children as well.
Children of elementary school age and under must be accompanied by a guardian.

Is it okay to take photos?

You are welcome to take photos of exhibit areas in Zones 1 through 8 and Zone 10.
Please note, however, that taking photos in the plant (Zone 9) and on the company grounds is prohibited.

MAKING A BOOKING

How far in advance can I make a booking?

Please make your booking online.
Bookings for up to 10 visitors: You may make a booking up to 6 months in advance from 9:00 am on the day you wish to visit
Bookings for 11 or more visitors: You may make a booking up to 2 months in advance from 9:00 am on the day you wish to visit
School Groups (Elementary, Junior High & High School): You may make a booking up to 6 months in advance from 9:00 AM on the day you wish to visit

Can I visit without making a booking?

All visits to the museum must be booked in advance. Therefore, please be sure to make a booking online at the museum’s official website.
We accept bookings up to 2 days prior to a visit.

How many people do you consider a group?

We treat 11 or more visitors as a group, and assign staff to accompany each group.
If there are 10 or less visitors, we will have them join a group that includes other visitors.
For school groups (elementary, junior high and high school), bookings may be made for a group of 10 or less.

What do I do if I want to change, cancel or confirm my booking?

MUSEUM FACILITIES

Is Wi-Fi available inside the museum?

We are sorry but Wi-Fi is not available in the museum.

Is there a smoking area?

There is no smoking anywhere in the museum or on the grounds.
We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your cooperation.

Is there a place to sit down and eat lunch, or is there a restaurant?

We do not provide any eating facilities.
On the first floor there is a rest area where you can have drinks only. (There are also vending machines that sell drinks.)
In the Mazda Head Office lobby there is also a Tully’s coffee shop. Please feel free to use it.

Is there a place where we can buy souvenirs or Mazda goods?

The museum has a shop where Mazda goods and other items can be purchased.
The following credit cards may be used at the shop:
VISA/Mastercard/JCB/AMERICAN EXPRESS/DISCOVER/Diners Club
The shop does not currently provide for cashless payments other than payment by credit card.

WHEELCHAIRS AND STROLLERS

Do you provide wheelchairs for use at the museum?

We do have a limited number of wheelchairs available for use at the museum. Please be sure to make an inquiry beforehand at the following email address:

Is it possible to take part in the tour in a wheelchair?

Yes, it is. There is a stairlift alongside the staircase.
Whether the stairlift can be used, however, depends on the type, shape and number of wheelchairs.

Can I use a baby stroller during the tour?

Yes, you can. There are places in the museum where you will need to go up and down stairs, however. You may also leave the stroller with the reception desk.
If you find that you do not need the stroller during the tour, we will look after it for you, so please let us know.
We ask that you fold the stroller prior to boarding the shuttle bus.
We do not have strollers for loan at the museum.

Is there a place for changing diapers or a nursing room?

There is a diaper changing space in the multipurpose restroom in the building.
There is no nursing room, however. We appreciate your understanding.
