In October 2008, the one millionth visitor passed through the doors of the Mazda Museum, located within Mazda's headquarters facility in Hiroshima. In cooperation with HyNor, Norway's national hydrogen project, Mazda began running the Mazda RX-8 Hydrogen RE on public roads in Norway. The hydrogen rotary engine vehicle was used to validate the feasibility of driving a hydrogen car across the country, and was also exhibited at various energy-related events.
