Special Lecture to Celebrate the Launch of the New CX-5

The all-new CX-5 is the latest model that builds upon and further enhances the values established by previous CX-5 models. It refines the “Kodo” design and the “Human-Machine Unity” driving experience even further, while delivering joy and excitement through sight, touch, and the driving experience itself. To commemorate the launch of the all-new CX-5, we will host a special lecture featuring the Project Leader and Chief Designer.

 

Additionally, this commemorative lecture will be live-streamed at MAZDA TRANS AOYAMA and MAZDA BRAND SPACE OSAKA and KOBE MAZDA EVENTSQUARE and MAZDA HERITAGE SPACE FUKAGAWA ! No reservation is required, so feel free to join us.

As the first model to fully incorporate “SKYACTIV Technology” and “Kodo Design,” the CX-5 has been a core model for Mazda, beloved by approximately 5 million customers in more than 100 countries and regions worldwide since its launch in 2012. With this all-new third-generation CX-5, Mazda has not only advanced its environmental and safety performance but has also thoroughly pursued everyday usability. While inheriting the appeal as an “urban SUV” established by previous models, it aims to be a vehicle that allows you to “go wherever you want with freedom” and “enjoy what you want to do to the fullest.” It achieves a high level of balance between the beauty and functionality of Kodo Design, evolving into an SUV that will be cherished for years to come.

Special Exhibition②: “Mazda Fan Festa 2026: Vehicles for the Heritage Car Test Drive Experience”

Museum Guided Tour

Experience Mazda's 100-year history through a 60-minute tour.

 

We'll introduce the challenges and technological innovations from our founding to the present day, featuring actual exhibits and expert commentary. Discover our commitment to craftsmanship and Mazda's unique “story of relentless challenge” on this tour.

We will be offering test drives of the CX-7 alongside a tribute to Mazda’s past SUV models.

Career Exploration Program　～The Work of Sand Casting, Polishing, and Painting Craftsmen～

　The exhibits featured at the Japan Mobility Show’s “Out of KidZania in JMS” event are coming to the Mazda Museum!In this hands-on experience, you’ll pack sand tightly to create a mold, which a craftsman will then fill with molten metal. Afterward, you’ll polish the cast piece until it shines, and you’ll also have the chance to paint your very own mini Roadster.

 

　You’ll create a bright red metal “Roadster Mini Car” while learning the skills of the craftsmen. By finishing it with your own hands, you’ll gain a deeper appreciation for the joy of making things and the satisfaction of completion.

 

【How to Apply for the Experience】

　・Numbered tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-　served basis in the lobby of Mazda Headquarters, the bus departure point, on the day of the event.

　　Morning Session: Distribution begins at 8:30 AM. Registration closes once the morning session is full.

　　Afternoon Session: Distribution begins at 11:30 AM. Registration closes once the afternoon session is full.

【How to Participate in the Event】

You can choose from the following two options.

*Option 1 does not require a numbered ticket; Option 2 does (first-come, first-served).

 

① Race Car Engine Head Cover Polishing Experience

While enjoying behind-the-scenes stories and car talk with a development engineer, you’ll spend about 20 minutes polishing a Roadster engine head cover. At the end of the polishing session, you’ll write a message of support for the Roadster and Mazda’s racing activities.

 

The head covers polished by participants will actually be installed on race cars competing in the Super Taikyu Series and used during the actual races.

 

 

 

② Miniature Engine Head Cover Polishing Experience (First-come, first-served; ticket required)

While enjoying a conversation with a development engineer, you’ll spend about 20 minutes polishing a miniature replica of the Roadster’s engine head cover. Through the same process as polishing the actual head cover, you’ll experience the joy of polishing and the appeal of craftsmanship.

 

After the experience, you can take home the polished miniature head cover as a souvenir.

In this section, you can learn about the compression ignition process that takes place in the SKYACTIV-D engine—a powerplant that successfully combines the “joy of driving” with “superior environmental performance.”

 

We’ve set up an experimental apparatus that allows you to observe the combustion process inside the engine up close—a sight you wouldn’t normally get to see.

 

Our staff will be on hand to ensure that even children can enjoy this experience safely!

Feel free to imagine and express what a Mazda car might look like in 2050.

 

Your artwork will be displayed at the Mazda Museum (Zone 9, Factory Tour Area).

 

(You may also take your artwork home.)

 

Art supplies are available for loan, but since quantities are limited, we encourage you to bring your own.

Next Time Preview

・The Mazda Museum’s special Saturday opening in October 2026 is scheduled for Saturday, October 10. The event, titled “The People Who Bring ‘The Desire to Drive’ to Life: MAZDA ENGINEER’S TALK Vol. 1,”

 

will feature a talk titled “The Man Behind the Roadster’s ‘Smooth Shifting’”—a discussion by the developer of the manual transmission for the current Roadster on Mazda’s commitment to in-house transmission development.
