Following are some frequently asked questions about the museum.

ABOUT THE TOUR

A.The museum is open on the first Saturday of every month (“Saturday Open Day”), and individual visitors can tour the museum on their own on that day. If you wish to visit the museum on a Saturday Open Day, you must make a booking at the Saturday Open Day Bookings page of the Mazda Museum website.

A.A Mazda Museum shuttle bus that operates on the premises takes visitors to and from the museum.

For security reasons, we ask visitors not to leave while the tour is in progress.

A.Tours are held at pre-arranged times.

A.Visiting the museum is free of charge.

A.The museum consists of 10 exhibit themes which are arranged in sequence from Zone 1 to Zone 10.
Visitors can learn about Mazda’s history from its founding to the present as well as Mazda’s aspirations for the next 100 years.
In addition to seeing models and engines of Mazda cars on display, visitors can watch cars being assembled before their very eyes, so we hope everyone who comes to visit will be able to feel firsthand what we mean by Mazda’s “monotsukuri spirit.”

A.Visitors arriving by public transportation: There is a parking lot in front of the Mazda head office building.

We do not take reservations for a parking space.

Please park in an empty space. 

*Do not park in spaces that have a pylon.

Visitors arriving by chartered bus: Please use the Mazda East Main Gate Entrance and park in the tour bus parking area in front of the entrance to the Mazda Museum.

A.We welcome visitors from the age of zero, so please feel free to make bookings for children as well.

Children of elementary school age and under must be accompanied by a guardian.

A.You are welcome to take photos of exhibit areas in Zones 1 through 8 and Zone 10.

Please note, however, that taking photos in the plant (Zone 9) and on the company grounds is prohibited.

A.You may register your information at the provisional stage. Please contact the Mazda Museum when your information is confirmed.

MAKING A BOOKING

A.The reservation start dates are as follows:

For groups of 10 or fewer visitors: Reservations can be made from 9:00 AM on the same day three months before the tour date. ※1

For groups of 11 or more visitors: Reservations can be made from 9:00 AM on the same day three months before the tour date. ※1

For school groups (Elementary, juniro/senior high school): Reservations can be made from 9:00 AM on the same day six months before the tour date. ※2

 

※1 If there is no same day in the month: Reservations can be made from 12:00 AM on the 1st day of the month, two months before the tour date. For example, if the tour date is July 31, reservations will open on May 1 at 12:00 AM (since April has no 31st).

 

※2 If there is no same day in the month: Reservations can be made from 12:00 AM on the 1st day of the month, five months before the tour date. For example, if the tour date is October 31, reservations will open on May 1 at 12:00 AM (since April has no 31st).

A.All visits to the museum must be booked in advance. Therefore, please be sure to make a booking online at the museum’s official website.

We accept bookings up until 2 days prior to a visit.

A.We treat 11 or more visitors as a group, and assign staff to accompany each group.

If there are 10 or less visitors, we will have them join a group that includes other visitors.

For school groups (elementary, junior high and high school), bookings may be made for a group of 10 or less.

A.We are sorry, but we do not have a waiting list. Please check our website from time to time for availability and make a reservation as soon as one becomes available.

A.We are afraid that all group tours are conducted only in Japanese. If you wish to have a tour in another language, please arrange for an interpreter.

MUSEUM FACILITIES

A.There is no smoking anywhere in the museum or on the grounds.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your cooperation.

A.We do not provide any eating facilities.

On the first floor there is a rest area where you can have drinks only. (There are also vending machines that sell drinks.)

In the Mazda Head Office lobby there is also a Tully’s coffee shop. Please feel free to use it.

A.The museum has a shop where Mazda goods and other items can be purchased.

WHEELCHAIRS AND STROLLERS

A.We do have a limited number of wheelchairs available for use at the museum. Before making a tour booking, please contact us at the following website:

A.Yes, it is. There is a stairlift alongside the staircase.

Whether the stairlift can be used, however, depends on the type, shape and number of wheelchairs.

A.Yes, you can. There are places in the museum where you will need to go up and down stairs, however. You may also leave the stroller with the reception desk.

If you find that you do not need the stroller during the tour, we will look after it for you, so please let us know.

We ask that you fold the stroller prior to boarding the shuttle bus.

We do not have strollers for loan at the museum.

A.There is a diaper changing space in the multipurpose restroom in the building.

There is no nursing room, however. We appreciate your understanding.
