Lecture Overview

Released in 1990, the Eunos Cosmo was a groundbreaking model that featured the world’s first mass-produced 3-rotor rotary engine as well as an advanced car communication system. It was truly a fusion of Mazda’s cutting-edge technology and design philosophy.

In this event, we welcome the car’s original exterior and interior designers as guest speakers. They will share behind-the-scenes stories from development, their design inspirations, and the cultural context of the era—offering a rare opportunity to hear insights available only at this commemorative lecture.

Please note: The lecture will be conducted in Japanese only.

The Mazda MX-03 is a concept car unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show and Tokyo Motor Show in 1985.

Designed around the theme of a high-performance 4-seat sports coupe for the 1990s, it was built as an experimental vehicle to give form to Mazda’s latest technologies of the time and to study their potential. Some of the technologies developed through the MX-03 were later incorporated into the Eunos Cosmo, launched in 1990.
