World Premiere of the Re-engineered Mazda6 at the LA Auto Show

The 2017 LA Auto Show ran from December 1-10 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Here is a glimpse of the action at the Mazda stand, where we showcased the world premiere of the re-engineered and refined Mazda6 sedan.

This is what Masahiro Moro, President and CEO of Mazda Motor of America, Inc., had to say about the new Mazda6.

“There’s no doubt that beautiful cars with strong design are the hallmark of a Mazda, and Mazda6 embodies that. Now we’ve made some detail changes to keep the car looking fresh.”

“The exterior has a piercing motion towards the rear, making our 2018 Mazda6 still the most dynamic sedan silhouette within its segment today. The design is more distinctive, premium, beautiful and dignified, as befits the flagship of our passenger car lineup.”

“But it’s on the inside of our cars that our customers spend most of their time, and lately that’s been a stand-out area for us. CX-9 was named this year by Ward’s as one of their Top-10 Interiors – the only three-row SUV on the list. And our CX-5 recently won a Wards 10 Best User Experiences award for exceeding customer needs and wants as well.”

“This highly reimagined Mazda6 takes lessons learned with both crossovers and introduces more genuine materials. Major parts of the interior have been precisely assembled, stretched and stitched by hand. We want you to connect with our makers, the Takumi craftsmen, through the work of raw materials such as metal, wood and fabrics.”

“But like all Mazdas, the beauty of the new Mazda6 shines brightest behind the wheel. For the first time in a sedan model, we are proud to announce that we’ll be making the SKYACTIV-G 2.5-liter turbo engine available in North America. Mazda6 – and its CX-5 sibling – will also be available with a new cylinder deactivation system, to make the most fuel-efficient lineup in the USA even more so. You will also find Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go, 360° View Monitor and greatly improved sound deadening.”
