MA is the major sponsor of the North Melbourne Football Club (NMFC), a prominent team in the Australian Football League (AFL). MA has been the major sponsor now for 22 seasons. Since 2018, MA has also been the exclusive sponsor of the North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos (NMTK), the new team in AFL Women's (AFLW). MA continued sponsorship in 2020.

MST is the main sponsor of SWATCAT Nakhon Ratchasima Mazda FC, a national football club based in Nakhon Rachasima, Thailand.
MST has continued this sponsorship for nine years to help raise Thai football to an international level and promote the sport's popularity, as well as to support local economic development in Nakhon Ratchasima.

Mazda and its dealerships in Japan act not only as official sponsors for the National Sports Festival but also support regional sports tournaments, local professional soccer teams, and amateur sports teams including local athletes.
Since 2020, Mazda has also been supporting professional basketball team Hiroshima Dragonflies, which belongs to the B.League. In addition, Mazda has been supporting Hiroshima women's soccer team Ange Violet Hiroshima as a banner sponsor for home games since 2015.

Koushin Mazda has been supporting the logistics of baseball teams since 2013 by providing vehicles on loan to transport team staff of the Shinano Grandserows, a professional baseball team in Nagano Prefecture that belongs to the Baseball Challenge League, an independent professional baseball league. As a home game arena sponsor since 2018, Koushin Mazda has also been supporting the Boaluz Nagano Futsal Club, which has been participating in the Japan Futsal League Division 1.
