Donating a Portion of Sales Proceeds
Mazda Parts, Mazda Ace and Kobe Mazda have installed community-support vending machines within their companies, and donate a portion of the sales proceeds to social welfare organizations.
Since the start of activities in 2016, Mazda Parts has installed a total of eight vending machines to help support children orphaned as a result of traffic accidents, contribute to the preservation of the Atomic Bomb Dome, and raise awareness of drink driving through the donation of a portion of the sales proceeds to the Scholarship Foundation for Traffic Accident Orphans (Kotsuiji Ikueikai), Hiroshima City, and an NPO respectively.
The installation of vending machines that allow people to provide support simply by buying a drink is popular among employees, and helps to raise awareness about contributing to society. Mazda Parts plans to continue increasing the number of these vending machines in the future.
Mazda Ace has participated in this activity since 2011, with one vending machine at the Hiroshima Head Office to support the Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra and one to support Sanfrecce Hiroshima. The Mazda Hofu Plant (Yamaguchi Prefecture) has four vending machines to support the Red Feather Community Chest and one to support the Children's Tomorrow Flower Project, which provides aid to children living in poverty.
In FY2020, a new support vending machine for the Victim Assistance Center of Hiroshima was installed at head office to support persons who suffered in an accident as well as their families, bringing the total number of support vending machines to eight.
Since the start of activities in 2008, Kobe Mazda has been installing vending machines to support the Japan Guide Dog Association. In FY2020, another vending machine was installed, bringing the total number of vending machines there to 14.
