Impact Absorbing Soft Interior

Mazda employs a soft, shock absorbing material in the interior to reduce injury in the event that some part of an occupant's body hits the interior of the cabin during an accident. In side-impact or oblique-impact collisions at low speed, the air bags may not deploy. To minimize injury in the event that the occupant's head collides with interior of the cabin, the pillars and roof side rails are fitted with a shock-absorbing material.
