1. Domestic Production
The domestic production for May 2008 increased 19.9% over the same month last year due to additional production of the Mazda2 (known as the Demio in Japan) and increases in Mazda6 (Atenza) and Mazda CX-7 production.

2. Overseas Production
Despite healthy production of the BT-50 pickup and Mazda3, total overseas production decreased 7.2% year-on-year due to production changes in preparation for the introduction of the all-new Mazda6 in the US and other factors.

Although sales of Mazda2 (Demio), Mazda5 (Premacy) and Mazda6 (Atenza) were brisk, Mazda’s domestic sales volume decreased 4.8% compared to May 2007, reflecting a reduction in total market demand (down 4.8%).
Mazda’s registered vehicle market share was 6.4% (up 0.1 points), with a 3.4% share (unchanged from May 2007) of the micro-mini segment and a 5.2% total market share, unchanged from the same month last year.
