1. Domestic Production
(1) March 2008
The domestic production volume for March 2008 increased 15.1% over the same month last year due to additional production of the Mazda2 for the European market and increased production of the Mazda6 (known as the Atenza in Japan), CX-9 and CX-7.

2. Overseas Production
(1) March 2008
Production of the Mazda6 and Mazda3 was healthy. However, total overseas production was down 6.3% year-on-year due to the end of production of Familia and Premacy models in China since FAW Haima established itself as an independent brand.

Although production of the Mazda6, Mazda3, and Tribute was healthy, total overseas production in FY2007 was below the figure for FY2006, down 16.8%, due to the end of production of Familia and Premacy models in China since FAW Haima established itself as an independent brand. Excluding the impact from these models, global production increased 8.9%.

Mazda’s domestic sales volume exceeded the figure for the same month last year, up 0.8% over March 2007. This result reflects brisk sales of the Mazda2 (Demio), Mazda6 (Atenza) and other models.
Mazda’s registered vehicle market share was 5.7%, unchanged from March 2007, with a 3.0% share of the micro-mini segment (up 0.6 points) and a 4.7% total market share, up 0.2 points over the same month last year.

(2) FY2007
Domestic sales of the Mazda2 (Demio), Mazda6 (Atenza), and MX-5 (Roadster) were brisk. However, the total domestic sales volume for FY2007 was below the figure for FY2006, down 2.0%. This mainly reflects reduced sales of commercial vehicles.
Mazda’s registered vehicle market share was 5.8%, unchanged from last year, with a 3.0% share of the micro-mini segment (up 0.4 points year-on-year) and a 4.8% total market share, up 0.2 points over FY2006.

This result is due to brisk sales of the Mazda2 in Europe and Oceania and the Mazda6 in Europe, as well as additional CX-7 shipments to Europe and increased shipments of the CX-9 and other models to the Middle East and Oceania.
On a market basis, exports to Europe, Oceania and other markets (the Middle East, Asia, and Africa) were healthy.

FY2007 exports exceeded those of FY2006, up 10.1% year-on year. This was mainly due to increased shipments resulting from the popularity of the Mazda3 in North America and Europe, brisk sales of the Mazda2 in Europe and Oceania, additional CX-7 exports to Europe, and strong sales of the CX-9 in North America.
On a market basis, exports to Europe, Oceania and other markets (the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Latin America) were healthy.
