1. Domestic Production
The domestic production volume for May 2007 has exceeded the figure for the same month last year, up 8% compared to May 2006. This increase was mainly due to healthy production volumes of the Mazda3 and Mazda5.

2. Overseas production
The overseas production volume was below the figure for the same month last year, down 27.9% on May 2006. Reduced production of the Mazda6, among other models, led to the result, despite increased production of the Mazda3.

May 2007 sales of passenger vehicles such as the AZ-Wagon, Mazda3 and MX-5 were up over the previous year’s results. However, due to a decrease in commercial vehicle sales, the total domestic sales volume was below the figure for the same month last year, down 2.0% year-on-year.
Mazda’s registered vehicle market share was 6.3%, down 0.1 points over May 2006, with a 3.4% share of the micro-mini segment (up 0.8 points) and a 5.2% total market share, up 0.2 points over the same month last year.

May 2007 exports exceeded the figure for the same month last year, up 14.4% year-on-year, mainly due to increased export volumes of the Mazda3 and Mazda6.
On a market basis, exports to Europe were particularly healthy, reaching 22,734 units (up 21.9% year-on-year) mainly due to an increased export volume of the Mazda3.
