In September 2006, Mazda's domestic production, exports, and overseas
production figures exceeded the figures for the same month in 2005 due
to steady sales of the Mazda CX-7 and Mazda3. The domestic production,
exports and overseas production figures for the six-month period from
April to September 2006 also rose above the figures for the same period
last year.

For 11 straight months since November 2005, domestic production volumes
exceeded those for the same month last year, up 1.0% over September
2005. The increase reflects the additional production of the North
America-bound Mazda CX-7 and increased production of the Mazda5
and Mazda3. |

For the third consecutive year since 2004, domestic production volumes
for the period April through September exceeded those for the previous
year, up 8.4% over 2005. These positive results reflect the rise
in production resulting from the launch of the new Mazda CX-7 bound
for the North American market and steady exports of the Mazda5
and Mazda MX-5. |

Domestic sales volumes for September 2006 were down 8.7% on September
2005. Although sales of the Mazda3, Mazda Verisa, and the Scrum
truck were steady, reduced overall domestic demand and diminished
new model impact of the Mazda6 offset total sales. Mazda's registered
vehicle market share in Japan was 6.1% (down 0.4 points from September
2005) with a 2.9% share of the micro-mini segment (up 0.3 points
year-on-year) and a 5.0% total market share (down 0.3 points from
the same month last year). |

Sales volumes for the period from April to September 2006 were below
the figures for the same six-month period the previous year, down
7.1% compared to 2005. Despite steady sales of the Mazda MPV, AZ-Wagon
and commercial vehicles, lower sales volumes for Mazda5 and Mazda6
led to an overall decline. Mazda's registered vehicle market share
in Japan was 6.0% (down 0.2 points over the same period last year)
with a 2.7% micro-mini segment share (up 0.1 points year-on-year)
and a total market share of 4.8% (down 0.2 points). |

For 14 consecutive months since August 2005, exports have exceeded
the figure for the same month in the previous year, with September's
exports up 10% year-on-year. These results mainly reflect increased
export volumes of the Mazda CX-7 and Mazda3. On a market basis,
exports to North America and Europe showed steady growth. Notably,
increased exports of CX-7 and Mazda3 to North America led to a
total export of 25,908 units, up 19.4% over September 2005. |

For the third consecutive year since 2004, April through September
export figures have exceeded those from the same period the previous
year, up 16.3% year-on-year. This result is attributable to the
increased export volumes of the Mazda CX-7 and Mazda5. On a market
basis, exports of Mazda CX-7 to North America were particularly
healthy, contributing to a total export volume of 149,160 units,
up 39% year-on-year. |

Overseas production volumes increased for the first time in two months
since July 2006, up 1.2% over the figures for September 2005. These
positive results mainly reflect increased overseas production of
the Mazda6 and Premacy. On a country basis, production of the Mazda6
in China was strong, helping the total production volume reach
10,120 units (up 8.4% year-on-year). |

over the same period in the previous year, up 6.9% for April through
September 2006. This mainly reflects increased production volumes
of the Mazda323 and BT-50. On a country basis, in particular the

an increase to 69,146 units (up 30.1% year-on-year). |
