Mazda Motor Corporation has announced the following organizational and personnel changes, effective September 1, 2010.

1. Organizational Changes

(1) Changes in the area of profit control

Goals

• To strengthen and enhance efficiency in product development cost management throughout the company.
• To ensure smooth business negotiations with external parties and suppliers, and to clarify roles and areas of authority within the division.

Details of the organizational changes

• Rename the Product Profit Control Div. as the Profit Control Div.
• Newly establish the Planning Promotion Dept., Regional Profit Management Dept., Product Profit Management Dept., Cost Planning Dept. and the Cost Innovation Dept. in the newly created Profit Control Div.
• Eliminate the Strategic Cost Innovation Dept. of the R&D Technical Administration Div., and transfer its functions to the Cost Planning Dept. and the Cost Innovation Dept.
• Transfer some planning promotion, regional sales financing analysis and vehicle profit and cost control functions of the Product Profit Control Div. to the Planning Promotion Dept, Regional Profit Management Dept., Product Profit Management Dept. and the Cost Planning Dept.

(2) Changes in the area of human resources

Goals

• To strengthen the company's global orientation, and for rapid and precise actions related to personnel and labor related matters within the Mazda Group.

Details of the organizational changes

• Rename the Global HR Planning Dept. as the Global Human Resources Dept.
• Review the functions of the Global HR Planning Dept. and the Personnel & Labor Affairs Dept and consolidate the human resources planning functions in the Personnel and Labor Affairs Dept. and consolidate some of the operational functions in the Global Human Resources Dept.
