Organizational and Personnel Changes

Mazda Motor Corporation has announced the following organizational and personnel changes, effective June 1, 2009.
1. Organizational Changes
(1) Changes in the area of product profit control
Goals

To enhance organizational efficiency and speed up the decision making process for operations in each region. Previously, financial management functions for each region have been split between the Corporate Planning Div. and the Product Profit Control Div. With these organizational changes, consistent financial analysis will be provided for each region from the development stage through to mass production and sales. |

To enable improved and more efficient communications with each market. |
Details of the organizational changes

Price approval and profit control functions for the North American and European markets have been transferred from the Market Profit Control Dept. in the Corporate Planning Div. to the Product Profit Control Div. |

Profit control functions for China have been transferred from the Market Profit Control Dept. in the Corporate Planning Div. to the China Planning & Finance Dept. in the China Business Div. Similarly, profit control functions for Japan have been transferred to the Domestic Business Dept. in the Domestic Business Div., and profit control functions for other markets have been transferred to the Overseas Business Development Dept. in the Overseas Sales Div. |

In line with the above changes, the Market Profit Control Dept. in the Corporate Planning Div. has been eliminated. |
(2) Changes in the area of electric drive system development
Goal

To strengthen development of electric drive systems. |
