Organizational and Personnel Changes

Mazda Motor Corporation has announced the following organizational and personnel changes as follows, effective November 1, 2006.

 

1. Organizational Changes
(1) Domestic marketing changes:
Goals
(1) To increase the speed of policy planning, implementation and development speed, two domestic sales and marketing divisions have been merged to form one structure.
(2) To strengthen the planning and implementation capability of the entire domestic sales and marketing structure, the changes are aimed at achieving the optimum balance between units sold and earnings in the domestic market.
(3) To enhance the planning and implementation capability of Mazda's efforts toward achieving unified brand and communication strategies and further clarifying Mazda's brand image in the domestic market.
(4) To establish a stronger sales network in the domestic market though comprehensive support for our distributors' dealer outlet development and through the creation of information systems.
(5) To strive for maximum levels of customer satisfaction and to expand Mazda's aftermarket business.
(6) To more efficiently and effectively explore potential business with major corporate clients and to enhance the domestic sales force.

 

Details
(1) The Domestic Marketing Div. and Domestic Sales Div. were consolidated and the new division has been named the Domestic Business Div.
(2) The Domestic Business Development Department has been newly created, with some of the functions of the Planning & Administration Dept. and the Sales Operation Dept. transferred to it.
(3) The Brand Promotion Dept. has been newly created, with some functions of the Planning & Administration Dept., the Marketing Planning Dept. and the Internet Marketing Department transferred to it.
(4) The Sales Network Promotion Dept. has been newly created, with some functions of the Internet Marketing Dept. transferred to it.
(5) The Domestic Field Service Department's functions have been integrated into the Customer Service (CS) Promotion Dept.
(6) The Direct Sales Dept. No. 1 and the Direct Sales Dept. No.2 have been integrated and the new department has been named the Fleet Sales Dept.
(7) The Planning & Administration Dept. has been renamed the Domestic Administration Dept.
(8) In line with the organizational changes noted above, the Marketing Planning Dept., the Internet Marketing Dept., the Direct Sales Dept. No. 1, the Direct Sales Dept. No.2, and the Domestic Field Service Dept. have all been eliminated.

 

(2) Customer Service
Goals
(1) To reinforce comprehensive global planning and implementation, changes in the customer service area are aimed at the further enhancement of after-sales services that are focused on improving the connection between Mazda and its customers.
(2) To strengthen the linkages between each element of after-sales service, including product planning, development, purchasing and marketing, in order to achieve faster and more efficient operations.

 

Details
(1) The Customer Service Business Development Dept. has been newly formed.
(2) The Customer Service Parts Purchasing Dept. and the Global Service Marketing Dept. have been integrated into a new department that has been named the Global Service Marketing & Purchasing Dept.
