Organization and Personnel Changes

Mazda Motor Corporation has announced the following organizational and personnel changes, effective July 1, 2006:

1. Organizational changes: R&D
<Goals>
Looking to the future, Mazda aims to further accelerate its efforts to become more eco-friendly and continue to produce "Zoom-Zoom" products by:

(1)	Strengthening the development of advanced technologies.
(2)	Promoting operational efficiency, enhancing the R&D process and further accelerating infrastructure development by consolidating development work processes that apply to the mass production of powertrains.

The advanced development functions of the Engine Development Dept. No.1, Engine Development Dept. No.2, Engine Development Dept. No.3, Engine Development Dept No.4, Drivetrain Development Dept and the Powertrain System Development Dept., as well as the advanced technology development functions pertaining to powertain development at the Technical Research Center are all transferred to the Powertrain Advance Development Dept.

- The newly formed Engine Design Dept. now consists of the design functions of the former Engine Development Dept. No.1, Engine Development Dept. No.2 and Engine Development Dept. No.4.
- The newly formed Engine Testing & Research Dept. now consists of the testing and research functions of the former Engine Development Dept. No.2, Engine Development Dept. No.3 and Engine Development Dept. No.4.
- In line with the above changes, Engine Development Dept. No.1, Engine Development Dept. No.2, Engine Development Dept. No.3, and Engine Development Dept. No.4 are to be eliminated.
