The oil shock may have prevented the racing Savanna RX-3 from having a showdown with the Skyline GT-R, but the RX-3 had already proved itself to be an unbeatable machine. In May 1976, it won the Japan Grand Prix (TS/GTS-B race) to claim its 100th victory, which was a significant milestone for a single model in Japan. Its success did not end there; the RX-3 continued to improve on its record throughout its lifetime.
