Vehicle Recycling: Initiatives Involving Used Parts

Mazda cooperates with dealerships and shipping companies to collect and recycle end-of-life vehicles as well as damaged bumpers, engines and transmissions removed during vehicle repairs.

Cooperating with Sales Companies and Parts Dealers

Mazda collects damaged bumpers that have been repaired or replaced from dealerships throughout Japan to be recycled into bumpers for new cars and other applications.

Dealerships, parts dealers and other Mazda Group companies have been advancing this effort on a united front. Consequently, in FY2007 we collected 71,544 damaged bumpers and recycled them as plastic parts.

Applications for Recycled Parts

Mazda collects engines and transmissions replaced during repairs, and sells them as rebuilt parts after replacing and repairing the worn-out components.

We also work with recycling parts suppliers to sell reusable parts.
