Mazda conducts a wide range of investor relations (IR) activities, in keeping with its policy of fair and timely disclosure of information.
Mazda conducts frequent and timely disclosure. Every quarter, the Company convenes conferences to explain its business results, as well as making individual visits to organized investors in Japan and abroad or holding small meetings with them. We also disclose corporate data through our official IR Web site, annual report and other publications for shareholders.
In March 2009, Mazda conducted observation tours of its main plant in Hiroshima and held an "environmental technology forum" at Mazda R&D Center Yokohama. Both events were attended by numerous interested shareholders. At the plant tour, visitors were shown how the latest technologies and an impressive array of special techniques are applied to the assembly of automobiles on production lines. Afterward, Mazda directors held an informal get-together with shareholders, where ideas and opinions were freely exchanged. At the environmental forum, Mazda personnel explained Mazda' s leading-edge environmental technologies, including i-stop, Mazda' s idling-stop system, and the Mazda hydrogen rotary engine. This was followed by an opportunity for attendees to experience riding in Mazda cars with these systems. Mazda will continue to use a full spectrum of events and media to promote a deeper and broader understanding of its corporate activities.
